Discover biathlon without snow

In summer, biathlon leaves the snowy slopes for the magnificent rolling track at La Féclaz – Savoie Grand Revard. Combine precision and endurance on exceptional terrain, surrounded by invigorating nature.

The activity combines running or wheel-skiing (or rollerskiing or roller-skiing) with rifle, laser, pellet or 22 Long Rifle shooting, depending on the option chosen.

Qualified instructors will guide you step by step, in complete safety. After a few technical tips, you’re ready to hit the target… controlled breathing, absolute concentration… It’s up to you!

Equipment hire

If you’d like to discover roller-skiing or improve your skills to rediscover your winter sensations and continue your training, Nordic Attitude offers rental of roller-skiing equipment (skis, boots, poles and protectors) and introductory lessons.

Where to practice?

Summer biathlon is practised on the Alexis Boeuf biathlon stadium at La Fécaz – Savoie Grand Revard, just 30 minutes from Chambéry. It’s an ideal spot for a variety of activities: forests, breathtaking panoramas and pure mountain air. This biathlon stadium, where France’s world-class biathletes regularly train, is only accessible for professionally supervised activities.

Biathlon ambassador Océane Michelon

If you’re lucky, you might even bump into our local champion, Océane Michelon.
A member of the Bauges Nordic ski club, Océane had a magnificent 2024/25 season in the French A team. In particular, she won the relay title at the World Championships in Lenzerheide, as well as the silver medal in the Mass-start. She finished the season in a magnificent 5ᵉ place in the overall World Cup standings.

Let's hear it for the pros!

Three questions to Alexis Boeuf, world champion His tips and tricks

What is THE piece of advice you would give to someone new to the sport?

Don’t be afraid, it’s worth a try! It’s very easy to enjoy yourself from the very first session, and you’ll feel like a biathlon champion from the very first shot.

What’s the difference between the winter season and the rest of the year?

Firstly, the equipment. Instead of gliding across the snow on cross-country skis, we use roller skis to roll across the tarmac. The real difference is in the weather! We’re swapping the cold and snow for an introduction in shorts and a T-shirt in the sunshine.

So is it easier on the snow or on the road?

Surprising as it may seem, the off-snow period makes the discipline even more accessible than in winter. Snow can sometimes throw novices off balance. And summer often offers long evenings with pleasant temperatures, making it easier to enjoy a chat after the session is over.
