Summer biathlon and roller skiing in Savoie Grand Revard: sport, fun and nature

Fancy putting your biathlon skills to the test without having to wait for winter? In Savoie Grand Revard, summer biathlon and roller skiing offer you a unique experience in the heart of the mountains. Combining physical exertion, precision and the great outdoors, discover an accessible and enjoyable sport that’s perfect for combining sport, nature and fun.

Discover biathlon without snow

In summer, biathlon moves away from the snow-covered slopes to take place on the magnificent rolling track at La Féclaz – Savoie Grand Revard. Combine precision and endurance on an exceptional course, surrounded by invigorating natural scenery.

The activity combines running or roller skiing (or roller skis) with shooting using a rifle, laser, air rifle or .22 Long Rifle, depending on the package you choose.

Qualified instructors will guide you every step of the way, ensuring your safety at all times. After a few technical tips, you’ll be ready to take aim at the target… controlled breathing, absolute concentration… It’s your turn!

Equipment hire

If you’d like to try roller skiing for the first time or improve your skills to recapture that winter feeling and keep up your training, take a look at our roller ski hire providers (skis, boots, poles and protective gear).

Where can I practise?

Summer biathlon takes place at the Alexis Boeuf Biathlon Stadium in La Féclaz – Savoie Grand Revard, just 30 minutes from Chambéry. It’s the perfect spot for a variety of experiences: forests, breathtaking views and fresh mountain air. This biathlon stadium, where French biathletes competing at international level train regularly, is only accessible for activities supervised by a professional.

With a bit of luck, you might bump into our local champion, Océane Michelon.
A member of Bauges Ski Nordique, Océane Michelon made history in French biathlon by winning two Olympic titles and a silver medal at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Games. A remarkable achievement for the athlete from Les Bauges.

Three questions for Alexis Boeuf, world champion His tips and tricks

What is THE piece of advice you’d give to a complete beginner?

Don’t be put off – it’s well worth a go! It’s very easy to enjoy yourself right from the very first sessions, as you’ll feel like a biathlon champion from the very first shot.

What’s the difference between practising during the winter season and the rest of the year?

Firstly, the equipment. Instead of gliding on snow with cross-country skis, you use roller skis to ride on tarmac. The real difference is the weather! You swap the cold and snow for a taster session in shorts and a T-shirt in the sunshine.

So, is it easier on snow or on the road?

As surprising as it may seem, the snow-free period makes the sport even more accessible than in winter. Snow can sometimes throw beginners off balance. And then summer often offers us long evenings with pleasant temperatures, during which it’s easier to make the most of the time to chat once the session is over.

Fancy extending the experience into winter?
