Sports activities : A natural version of adrenalin

Here, you can enjoy all the sensations in a picture-postcard setting. In winter, Aillons-Margériaz is transformed into a white playground: downhill skiing on the slopes of Aillons-Margériaz 1400, Nordic skiing in the peaceful forests, or snowshoeing “frosted footprints” to discover the snowy secrets of the Bauges.

In summer, it’s all about gentle exertion: sporty hikes up to Mont Pelat, trail rides on the airy paths or downhill mountain biking in the open countryside. For cycling fans, the surrounding passes are well worth a few drops of “time potion”! Looking for a challenge? Try your hand at vertical trail running or ski touring.

Slopes for every style

At Aillons-Margériaz, downhill skiing is king! The resort offers a varied terrain. Beginners, families and experienced riders will all find something to suit them on pistes adapted to every level. Bonus: the panoramic view of the Massif des Bauges makes every descent unforgettable.

Head for the peaks of the Bauges

When the weather’s fine, put on your hiking boots and climb up to Mont Pelat or stroll through the mountain pastures. The signposted trails offer itineraries to suit everyone, from family walks to sporting outings with 1000 m of ascent.

The call of pure effort

The slopes of Aillons-Margériaz are the perfect playground for trail runners. Forest loops, dry climbs, panoramic ridges… each route offers its share of challenges and breathtaking views. There are even local sporting events where you can measure yourself against other enthusiasts.

Freewheeling energy

Whether you’re a road cyclist or a mountain biker, Aillons-Margériaz has something for everyone. The mountain passes of the Bauges (such as the Col du Frêne) will make climbers’ hearts beat faster, while the paths open up to fun and technical descents for mountain bikers. Between forests and pastures, pleasure is guaranteed with every pedal stroke.

Pleine nature : Between peaks, caves and stars

At Aillons-Margériaz, nature is a constant source of wonder. Climb the trees at the accrobranche park for a dose of suspended fun. Explore the mysteries of the underground world on a caving trip in the bowels of the Massif des Bauges. And when night falls, head for the Revard Astronomical Observatory or the “Milky Way Infusion” evenings for a cosmic interlude under a pure sky.

In summer, take a deep breath on a nature outing led by enthusiastic guides. And why not enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountain pastures in the early hours of the morning? A barefoot experience in the dew, with mountain tea in hand.

Head in the stars

At Aillons-Margériaz, the clear nights are a spectacular sight. Far from light pollution, the sky becomes an immense natural planetarium. Observation evenings are organised, sometimes hosted by enthusiasts who will take you on a journey to the Milky Way. With family or friends, get ready for an unforgettable “Milky Way infusion”.

Suspended pleasure

Put on your harness and set off to conquer the peaks on the massif’s accrobranche courses. Tyrolean traverses, monkey bridges, footbridges… Here, you can gain height and have fun at the same time. There’s something for children and adults alike, with circuits to suit all ages.

The secrets of the subsoil

Beneath your feet, the Massif des Bauges hides a fascinating world. Accompanied by guides, venture into the caves and natural galleries that reveal the geological history of the region. Helmet, headlamp, a bit of courage and a whole lot of wonder: caving is an experience like no other, as unusual as it is instructive.

Culture and heritage : Roots and living traditions

Aillons-Margériaz is also a plunge intoSavoyard history. Visit the heart of the village of Aillon-le-Jeune and stroll through the old chalets and flower-filled lanes. Don’t miss the Chartreuse d’Aillon, a former 12th-century abbey that has become an interpretation centre for the local heritage.

The whole family can enjoy fun tours such as “Secrets of yesteryear” to find out about life in the mountains in days gone by. When it comes to craftsmanship, push open the doors of farms or craftsmen’s workshops: cheese, pottery, wood… treasures to pack in your suitcases (and your taste buds).

Relaxation and well-being : Cocooning in the mountains

After the effort, the comfort. Here, we cultivate the art of letting go. Settle into a spa, let your “zenitude concoction” brew and immerse yourself in a warm bubble facing the mountains. Hammam, massages, Nordic baths: every break is an invitation to slow down.

Fancy a gourmet moment? The restaurants and inns in the mountain pastures offer Savoyard specialities such as matouille, to be savoured by the fire. And for the more curious, try a yoga workshop or a meditative walk in the forest. A real ‘balance bath’!
