Sports activities : A natural version of adrenalin

In winter, Aillons-Margériaz is transformed into a white playground: downhill skiing on the slopes of Aillons-Margériaz 1400, Nordic skiing in the peaceful forests, or snowshoeing “frosted footprints” to discover the snowy secrets of the Bauges.

In summer, it’s all about gentle exertion: sporty hikes up to Mont Pelat, trail rides on the airy paths or downhill mountain biking in the open countryside. For cycling fans, the surrounding passes are well worth a few drops of “time potion”! Looking for a challenge? Try your hand at vertical trail running or ski touring.

The mountain passes of the Bauges (such as the Col du Frêne) will make climbers’ hearts beat faster, while the paths open up to fun and technical descents for mountain bikers. Between forests and pastures, pleasure is guaranteed with every pedal stroke.

Aillons-Margériaz is also a plunge intoSavoyard history. Visit the heart of the village of Aillon-le-Jeune and stroll through the old chalets and flower-filled lanes. Don’t miss the Chartreuse d’Aillon, a former 12th-century abbey that has become an interpretation centre for the local heritage.
