Ski touring the mountain version of freedom

There are those who like to glide quickly. And then there are those who like to take their time. Climbing by leg power, advancing silently through a snow-covered forest, taking in the breathtaking views from the summit, savouring the descent as a well-deserved reward…

One climb, a thousand emotions

Welcome to the world of ski touring at Les Aillons-Margériaz. It’s a sport that’s at once sporting, contemplative and profoundly free, in the heart of the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park.

Here, the mountains are experienced differently

Instead of following the crowds, you make your own path. Leave the ski lifts behind and join the signposted itineraries that wind through forests and panoramic ridges.

At Les Aillons-Margériaz, two safe routes await you:

  • La Marge, perfect for beginners,
  • Les Crêtes to reach the summit of Margériaz and dominate the massif.

These routes are designed to combine escape, progress and safety, with clear signposting and educational panels on the ground.

Tools for hiking with confidence

Whether you’re curious, a beginner or already an enthusiast, everything is designed to help you:

  • Qualified instructors to help you discover the sport in complete safety.
  • The Mhikes app, a pocket GPS so you never lose track.
  • And, of course, a region that is committed to respecting nature and ensuring the safety of its visitors.

Safety : The basics

Check the weather, avalanche bulletins and ski area information

Know how to use a avalanche transceiver and GPS, and have a walking plan.

Get equipped: avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe, helmet, first aid kit, torch, rope if necessary

Follow the instructions and stay on the marked routes: ski touring is prohibited on alpine ski slopes.

In Aillons-Margériaz,
the mountain awaits you,
with skis on and an open heart!
