At Chambéry Montagnes, sport is in our DNA. With its inspiring peaks, natural training grounds and deep-rooted team spirit, our region cultivates a taste for effort, precision… and victory.

Proud of its roots and looking to the future, Grand Chambéry supports local talents who shine in their respective disciplines. Since 2024, two faces have embodied this dynamic: Paco Rassat, a promising downhill skier, and thei3 Ski Team, a breeding ground for up-and-coming cross-country skiers. Two careers, one passion, one region.

Paco Rassat The heritage of alpine skiing

A native of Aillons-Margériaz, Paco Rassat has been skiing since before he could walk. The son of a ski instructor and a first-aid worker, he joined the local ski club at the age of 5. Since then, his rise has been meteoric: six seasons in the French national team, a world ranking that rose from 45th to 23rd place, and a 9th place finish in the World Cup.

In the summer, he prepares in the Bauges, between cycling, running and personal challenges, such as the Tour de France stage in August 2025. His training ground? At home. The mindset? Tempered steel.

“This is my best season to date (editor’s note: 2024/2025). I’m making progress and becoming more consistent. And that makes me want to do even better.

i3 Ski Team the Nordic version of ambition

Based in La Féclaz, in the heart of Chambéry Montagnes, thei3 Ski Team links top-level sport with academic success. Founded in 2020, the structure welcomes a dozen post-bac students each season. Their aim? To shine in Olympic formats and long-distance marathons, from 35 to 100 km.

“This year, two of our athletes have been selected for the World Cup.

Personalised training, a unique environment, varied terrain… The Saint-André lake circuit, the Alexis Boeuf track, the Margériaz trails: all spots that forge champions. A precious balance between sporting excellence and well-being.
