Forget back to school! Holidays are all year round

365 days of escape

Here, there’s no need to wait for the holidays to get away from it all. At Chambéry Montagnes, each season opens a new chapter: colourful walks in autumn, snow sports and immaculate landscapes in winter, escapades along lakes and forests in spring, hikes and cool altitudes in summer. All year round, weekends are filled with adventure and discovery.

Explore the Bauges in depth in Aillons-Margériaz

If you’re looking for thrills and chills, why not embark on an unforgettable underground experience: caving. When temperatures rise, it’s the perfect way to combine exploration and well-being.

Head for the Tanne du Névé cave, for an hour and a half of footbridges, ladders and thrills by headlamp light. For the more adventurous, extend the adventure with an underground bivouac in the heart of the massif. A magical night, lulled by the echoes of the mountain.

After the effort, the comfort: in Lescheraines, Gaël Jacob, with Sokola, invites you to discover his home-made ice creams with unexpected flavours such as “Aphrodite” (passion fruit, pomegranate, ginger, Tasmanian pepper) or the many chocolate variations.

Continue your indulgent and relaxing interlude at theAuberge d’Aillon et d’Ailleurs: comfortable rooms, spa and refined cuisine, all at affordable prices. A real cocoon in the heart of the Bauges.

Getting up high at Savoie Grand Revard

Want to recharge your batteries and reconnect with nature? Then head to Le Revard and La Féclaz for an experience at an altitude of 1400 m.

Start with the accrobranche, where 12 courses, including a special “nets” course (for children aged 2 and over, no harness required), await you as you play at perched adventurers. Toboggans, hanging huts, giant trampolines: here, freedom takes to the heights.

Then let yourself be tempted by a paragliding flight from Le Revard. In just a few seconds, you’ll be flying over Lac du Bourget, the Nivolet cross and the Alps as far as the eye can see. It’s a breathtaking moment, and one you’ll want to experience at least once.

To prolong the magic, treat yourself to a night at the Gîte des 3 Sapins. This three-star gîte, set in the heart of nature, offers a swimming spa, a brazier for evenings under the stars and a warm atmosphere. The perfect place to recharge your batteries.

Dive into the history of Chambéry

Another story lies beneath your feet. Chambéry was one of the first towns to build a vast network of air raid shelters during the Second World War. In the absence of cellars in a centre built on former marshland, the town built these shelters to protect its population.

Today, these sites can be visited on guided tours or via immersive podcasts. It’s a moving way to immerse yourself in local history.

And for something a little lighter, follow the little metal elephants embedded in the pavements. They trace a route through the narrow streets, traboules and suburbs, guiding you from the centre to the emblematic fountain. A real poetic heritage treasure hunt.

Experience the mountains differently even out of season

The beauty of Chambéry Montagnes lies in its richness all year round. In autumn, the forests of the Bauges massif are decked out in flamboyant colours. It’s the perfect opportunity for a contemplative hike or a family mushroom-picking trip.

The signposted trails are accessible to all levels and allow you to breathe deeply, away from the stress of the new school year. For heritage lovers, the hamlets of the Bauges also have surprises in store: hidden chapels, typical farmhouses and craft workshops.

Don’t hesitate to meet the locals: cheese-makers, bee-keepers or wood-carvers, they’ll be delighted to share their passion and know-how with you.

And to extend this immersion, take part in a discovery workshop: tome des Bauges cheese-making, an introduction to watercolour painting in the heart of nature or an autumn photography course… An original way to reconnect with yourself and the region.

And if the weather is fine, why not relax by one of the many lakes in the area. The Lac de La Thuile, for example, is an ideal place to relax with a good book, watch the birds or simply enjoy the peace and quiet.
