A 100% Chambéry podcast!
From the sound recording to the mixing, from the original melodies to the voices that enliven it, everything in Chambéry’Cimes is imagined and produced by local talent. The ambition is simple: to reveal Chambéry through the people who live it every day, with their sensibility, their outlook and their passion.
This podcast, produced by Chambéry Montagnes, is the fruit of a collective effort:
- Sound recording, editing, mixing and production: Kamel Bouziane – Art AbordSavoie,
- Original melodies: Skal and Clément Thierry,
- Contributing voices: Chantal George and Monique Daquin, guides to historic monuments, Jacques Viout, vice-president of the Société des Amis du Vieux Chambéry, and Julie Chavaribeyre for the Tourist Office.
In each episode, Chambéry tells its own story: between history and confidences, heritage and emotions, in a soundtrack that echoes the territory.
The episodes are available on all listening platforms (Spotify, Deezer, etc.). Search for “Chambéry’Cimes”.

Sound recording,
editing
and mixing by
Art AbordSavoie
Some encounters are game-changers, paving the way for great projects. “Chambéry’Cimes” owes a great deal to one such encounter, with Kamel Bouziane, President of the Art AbordSavoie association.
Passionate about sound and image, Kamel captures those everyday moments that carry an extra soul. In 2020, his association produced a film about the Faubourg Montmélian, a tribute to the residents, artists, craftspeople and shopkeepers who keep this emblematic district alive.
One thing led to another, and the idea of a podcast was born. To give people a different way of hearing Chambéry: its stories, its mysteries, its secrets. To record the voices of those who love to tell and pass on their stories.
Beyond the technical aspects – sound recording, editing, mixing – Art AbordSavoie shares with Chambéry’Cimes and the Tourist Office a common conviction: to create links, reveal the human richness of an area and offer Chambéry enthusiasts a new way of discovering it.
HEM
Hem underlines the powerful idea that, no matter where we go in the world, or in life, there will always be a place that is our house, our home…
SKAL,
Music as
as a home
SKAL, from Chambéry, is a complete artist: pianist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and singer. Equally at home composing and improvising, he has been championing his own projects for several years, giving life to albums with sensitive, poetic universes.
His creations, such as Les jeux d’enfants, La Gravité and L’Empathie, weave a suspended world where words and piano intertwine to create timeless moments.
Alongside his career, SKAL is also the founder of the Soirées de l’Instant, monthly events that have been bringing artists and audiences together for unique moments of sharing for the past six years in the Rhône-Alpes region.
For Chambéry’Cimes, he is offering a piece of music imbued with intimacy: “Hem”, the Swedish word for home. It’s a melody that suggests that beyond our travels and life’s journeys, there’s always a place, a memory or a landscape that takes us back home. For SKAL, that home could well be here, between the lakes and mountains of Chambéry.

Centre for Interpretation
of Architecture
and Heritage (CIAP)
In the heart of the historic centre, the Hôtel de Cordon has been home to Chambéry’s CIAP since 2010. The town’s only private mansion open to the public, it reveals its adjoining rooms, elegant trompe-l’œil and 19thᵉ century wallpaper, refined witnesses to the art of living of Chambéry’s elite.
Accessible all year round, the CIAP invites visitors to delve into the history and development of the town through a permanent exhibition, enhanced by temporary exhibitions devoted to architecture and heritage. Tours, workshops and meetings complete the discovery.
This is also the venue for most of the guided tours of Chambéry (excluding the SNCF Rotonde), making the CIAP a real gateway to the city and its heritage.
The Society
des Amis
du Vieux Chambéry
Founded on 15 April 1933 by the sculptor Mars-Vallett, the Société des Amis du Vieux Chambéry is dedicated to protecting, conserving and promoting everything of historical, artistic and heritage interest in Chambéry and Savoie.
A great admirer of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Mars-Vallett set up the association to save the Charmettes valley, which was then threatened by urban development. Thanks to his efforts, the site was listed, becoming a key part of Chambéry’s heritage. Since then, the Society has worked tirelessly to defend and preserve this unique setting.
Today, the association – made up entirely of volunteers – is still active on two fronts:
Protecting and enhancing the old districts: monitoring urban development projects, making representations to the authorities, taking part in juries, and taking action to beautify, pedestrianise and attract tourists.
Sharing the history of Chambéry: an annual series of around ten lectures, publications, exhibitions, outings and trips help people to better understand and appreciate the city and its people.
A civic commitment that keeps Chambéry’s past alive, while linking it to its present and future.
