Unusual aperitifs Chambéry Mountains

Have you been missing the great outdoors and parties since the start of the new academic year? We’ve put together a list of the coolest, and sometimes most unusual, places to have a drink with friends. In a bar, in the open air… or underground!
So, are you looking for a bike-friendly aperitif on your way home from work, or an Escape Game with friends? Aperitif escape in the heart of a private forest or a photo aperitif at the summit of the Revard?
One thing’s for sure, at Chambéry Montagnes when the temperatures start to drop, it’s still ALWAYS time for an aperitif*!

The Archimalt creator of beers and shared moments

For the more urban types, all it takes is a few pedal strokes to get to Archimalt, a craft brewery in Saint-Alban-Leysse that has been awarded the “accueil vélo” label.

A microbrewery, bar and small restaurant all in one, cyclists will find plenty of room for their bikes, as well as two charging points for electric bikes. And that’s not counting the crack team who will give you the warmest of welcomes in a room decorated in a ‘recuperative-inventive’ style!

Warm and relaxed, this ‘brewPub’ serves craft beers brewed in the adjoining microbrewery. It’s just a short step from the bar to the brewery’s vats. It’s a chance to soak up the smells, colours and atmosphere that infuse the whole process of making these home-brewed beers.

At aperitif time, boards of cold meats, cheeses and sauces are available to share, as are home-made pizzas and desserts. Aperitif concerts, jams, bluegrass sessions and improv theatre evenings: there’s always something going on at Archimalt! The aperitif is calling, so get on your bike! (Pedestrians, motorcyclists, car drivers and other scooterists welcome!)

The Escap'Apéro the Escape Game to free up the aperitif!

You’ve got to earn an aperitif! Even more so at La Grande Évasion, which has been designing escape games since 2015.

The idea behind the Escap’Apéro is simple: find “the” ice box hidden in the Grande Évasion premises in Saint-Jeoire-Prieuré.

As a family, with friends or with colleagues, you’ll have to solve a series of riddles to get your hands on your precious booty: sausages, terrines and local cheeses… everything is locked up in the cooler. So keep your cool, think things through, work together and it’s up to you to liberate the aperitif and show that you’re worthy of FLAP, the Front de Libération de l’APéro!

If your tummy is crying out for food, don’t worry, the aperitif will be freed up as you progress through the game!

You can take ‘the’ cooler home with you if you’re a bit of a brain-teaser.

Why is this good?

Because it's unusual

Here, the aperitif goes off the beaten track: surprising places, new formats, experiences to share. Say goodbye to the classic terrace and say hello to escape!

Because it's local

You can toast with local flavours, meet local people and savour the moment in the heart of a typically Savoyard landscape.

Because it's ultra-friendly

With friends, as a couple or as a family, it’s a great time to switch off, have a laugh, share – and make some sparkling memories.

Le Chalet du Loup the closest of far-flung destinations

A cocooning aperitif at home

And for those who prefer to cocoon at home, head to the Ruche Boutik’ in the heart of Chambéry.

You’ll find a selection of local products from small producers that are well worth a visit!

At La Ruche, you’ll find everything you need to enjoy an aperitif: discover the “Chambéryzette”, a cocktail of white vermouth and strawberry liqueur created by Rosalie Dolin in 1902. This legendary aperitif, with its delicious fruity flavour, is always an invitation to share and enjoy!

L’Atelier du Citron’s Limoncello brings a touch of Italy to your cocktails. And if you’re more of a soft drinker, Routin’s master sirupier should get your taste buds tingling. No fewer than 52 flavours of syrup await you at La Ruche Boutik’!

As a side dish, you’ll find bear’s garlic or genepi terrines, or the famous ‘tavaillons’ from Maison Orset, savoury biscuits with a taste of Beaufort, Reblochon and goat’s cheese!

Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health. Know how to consume and enjoy it in moderation. Low levels of consumption can cause problems.
