MORNING - Discovering the historic center & the Holy Chapel of the Château des Ducs
10 am: Discover the City of the Dukes and admire the rich decorations of the castle of the Dukes of Savoy and the Sainte Chapelle. Then enjoy a visit of the historical center: push the doors of the private courtyards, walk through the labyrinth alleyways, and let the adventures of General de Boigne be told, in memory of whom the picturesque elephant fountain was built.
12 pm: Enhance your visit with a musical touch with a 15-minute concert of the Grand Carillon of Chambéry. With its 70 bells, this carillon is the largest in Europe. Its homogeneity of tone and its innovative carbon fiber mechanism, give it a personality and a richness of sound unique in the world.
12:30 pm: Lunch in a traditional restaurant in the historical center.
AFTERNOON - Discover the Musée Savoisien & the railway Rotunda
2 pm: Completely renovated, the Musée Savoisen, the departmental museum of the history and cultures of Savoie, is a unique place.
Over 2,000 objects from the Palaeolithic to the present day are on display. A journey with a guide through the geopolitical, cultural, social and economic history of Savoie.
4 pm: Follow the guide and enter the heart of one of the largest roundhouses in France. This masterpiece of early 20th century railway heritage is still in operation. Under the Eiffel-type metal framework, relive the great technological changes of the railway and admire the historic locomotives that are preserved there.
