Explore the "factory canal" and the wonderful ingenuity people have used to transform water into a source of energy. Then plunge into the heart of the water cycle and its different uses. Visit an old vegetable oil mill. Video projection room.

Cognin has know a rich industrial past, organised around the "Canal des Usines" drifted from the "Hyères". This canal, today preserved and promoted is still the witness of a thriving activity, base on the utilisation of water as motive force. To give all its sense to this canal save, the town has rehabilitated the "filiature Thomas", who preserve a bucket wheel in "Water Workshop".

Outside, a "water fountain" reproduce in miniature the "Canal des Usines" which was going through the village.
A the ground floor of the building, a mill reconstituted will show you all the secrets of oil making.
At the first floor of the building : 4 rooms of discovers and experimentations on different thematic :

- Story of the canal of the factories of the filature Thomas
- Water and its use as motive force.
- Water in the world of Renewable energies.
