The Chapelle de la Sainte Fontaine was built in 1839 on the site of a former priory, which was founded and inhabited by the Benedictine monks from the year 1050 until the French Revolution.
Until the beginning of the 18th century, the Benedictine monks owned the second-richest estate in the Bauges, after the Chartreux d'Aillons.
Located in the heart of the Réserve de Chasse et de Faune Sauvage des Bauges, the chapel contains the remains of the Pères de Bellevaux and is a pilgrimage destination on the Monday of Pentecost. There is a signposted nature trail from the Maison Faune-Flore.
Take the 'Vallon de Balleveaux' path to learn more about the secrets of the wildlife, plants, activities and agriculture. Accompanying guide available from Tourist Office (€2.30).
