Ever since Xavier de Maistre dared to fly here in 1784, Chambéry Montagnes has cultivated the art of taking to the skies. Even today, at Challes-les-Eaux, enthusiasts take to the skies like people go to the market: with an XXL smile. The aerodrome is THE spot for those who dream of a little shiver down their spine and a great moment above the clouds.

Landscapes to make you blink

Spoiler: it’s magnificent. The silver reflection of Lac du Bourget, the forests of the Chartreuse like a soft carpet, the Bauges cut out like a comic strip. Whether you’re suspended under a sail or aboard a small plane, the effect is the same: the landscape gives you a (gentle) slap in the face. And as a bonus: zero traffic jams.
