Discover the behind-the-scenes aspects of the forestry profession through a fun and immersive activity, the Saint-François-de-Sales marteloscope.
The forester of the Saint François de Sales communal forest opens the doors of his forest to you. Take a behind-the-scenes look at his job, and discover a vital stage in the life of the forest: hammering. We offer you a fun and immersive activity: the Marteloscope. It's a tool that lets you slip into the shoes of a forester as he chooses which trees to cut and which to keep in a forest. The complete Marteloscope activity is carried out under the guidance of an ONF forester, over half a day, to take advantage of a fun digital application on a tablet. He will teach you the basics of silviculture, the art of making the forest grow while preserving it.
These visits take place on real forestry sites in mountainous terrain. It is therefore essential to adapt your clothing and equipment to the terrain (hiking boots, water).
1.8km educational loop, 80m ascent, then forest walk, near the St François de Sales Nordic hostel.
