7 reasons to experience "Vignobles en Scène this autumn

… and make sure you don’t regret it!

From 17 to 19 October 2025, Chambéry Montagnes is serving up an autumn weekend to be savoured with all five senses. The Vignobles en Scène event (formerly known as Fascinant Weekend) is to be enjoyed in Savoie, and it has all the makings of a great vintage: flamboyant landscapes, wines full of character, human encounters, unusual experiences… and a good dose of good humour.

Here are 7 (+ 1 bonus) excellent reasons to book your getaway now. Spoiler: you’ll want to taste everything.

Alcohol abuse is dangerous for your health. Consume in moderation.

1. Because it's THE new name that makes autumn sparkle

Goodbye Fascinant Weekend, hello Vignobles en Scène!

This new name marks the revival of a festive national event, led by the Vignobles & Découvertes label, which celebrates France’s wine-growing terroirs and the people who make them tick.

Chambéry Montagnes is taking part in this great wine festival, buoyed by a new impetus – having just been re-labelled until 2028 in association with Cœur de Savoie, proof of the destination’s excellence in wine tourism. This renewal of the label is the affirmation of a commitment: that of promoting a region where wine is more than just a product – it’s a culture, a passion, an identity and a know-how.

2. Because autumn in Savoie, is the haute couture of landscapes

October here is a firework display of colour: the vines turn from green to bronze, the forests take on shades of copper and amber, and the peaks begin to whiten gently, as if sprinkled with icing sugar.

And in the middle of all this, you. With your lover or your friends, your nose to the wind, your glass in your hand, savouring the moment. Because yes, autumn in Savoie is the season for slow, gentle, good things. Perfect for a getaway, a bubble out of time, away from the crowds… and the harvest already over.

And the best part? It’s just a short train ride away! Chambéry TGV station takes you to the foot of the mountains, just a stone’s throw from the town centre and the vineyards. In just a few hours from Lyon, Paris or Geneva, you’ll be in the middle of a picture postcard. No stress, no traffic jams. Just you, the scenery and a drink in your hand.

3. Because there are crazy experiences to be had (and we're not just talking about wine)

Vignobles en Scène is much more than a few glasses on a counter. It’s an invitation to experience wine in a different way: on the move, at a height, in the heart of nature, or with your feet in the city. Our partners have plenty of ideas to help you discover wine tourism, vineyards and wine through a range of outdoor and indoor activities.

Here are just a few of our recommended experiences:

Green info

Chambéry Montagnes is easily accessible by train, thanks to the Chambéry Challes les Eaux TGV station. The main connections are via Lyon and Paris. The destination is also accessible by bus and car (A43 and A41 motorways).

4. Because you'll be meeting winegrowers passionate (and exciting)

Behind every bottle, there are hands, faces and stories. Throughout the weekend, the winegrowers of Savoie open their doors (and their cellars) to let you discover their know-how, their grape varieties (22 of them!) and their often perched lives – literally and figuratively.

This vineyard, small in size but big in diversity, can be visited like a living museum. It’s a place where you can learn, taste and bond.

And for those who want to do and see it all: take a private chauffeur-driven tour of the vineyards. Agence 1786 offers a comfortable 4-hour tour of the vineyards, with tastings and anecdotes. Perfect for exploring without driving (and drinking in peace).

6. Because the programme is a real treasure trove of discoveries

In addition to the nuggets already mentioned, here are a few sweets not to be missed:

7. Because it's also for the curious, not just for connoisseurs

You don’t need a degree in oenology or a sommelier’s nose to enjoy Vignobles en Scène! This event is designed to appeal to all tastes, whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just curious and looking for new sensations.
It’s the perfect opportunity for a gentle introduction, to ask questions (even those you’d never dare ask), taste, compare, learn… and above all, enjoy yourself.

There’s no jargon or judgement here, just enthusiasts who love to pass on their knowledge. And we tell you quite simply: there’s no better time to discover wine than when you’re sharing it with others.

Bonus: a concentration of emotions!

Chambéry Montagnes is a land of contrasts and riches, where wine is poetry, mountains are gentle and culture is shared around every corner.

Vignobles en Scène is the quintessence of what the region has to offer: genuine encounters, an inspiring natural environment, a living heritage and a deep-rooted taste for local produce.

You’ll leave with a wealth of memories, a few bottles under your arm (or in your trunk) and, above all, a single desire: to come back.

Why not drink in the scenery?

Take a weekend to slow down. To breathe. To sip Savoie. Because here, we cultivate much more than wine: we cultivate the art of living, a sincere welcome and simple pleasures.

And what if it wasn’t just an event?
What if it was your next favourite memory?
