7 reasons to experience ‘Vignobles en Scène’ this autumn

… and above all, don’t regret it!

From 16 to 18 October 2026, ‘ Chambéry Montagnes ’ offers you an autumn weekend to savour with all five senses. The Vignobles en Scène event (formerly Fascinant Week-end) takes place in the Savoy region and has all the hallmarks of a grand cru: flamboyant landscapes, wines full of character, warm encounters, unusual experiences… and a generous helping of good cheer.

Here are 7 (+ 1 bonus) excellent reasons to book your getaway now. Spoiler: you’ll want to try everything.

Excessive alcohol consumption is harmful to your health; please drink in moderation.

1. Because it’s THE new name which brings autumn to life

Farewell to ‘Le Fascinant Week-end’, hello to ‘Vignobles en Scène’!

This new name marks the revival of a festive national event, organised by the Vignobles & Découvertes label, which celebrates France’s wine-growing regions and the people who bring them to life.

Chambéry Montagnes Join in this great celebration of wine, driven by a new wave of enthusiasm – the event has just been re-accredited until 2028 in partnership with Cœur de Savoie, a testament to the destination’s excellence in wine tourism. This renewal of the label reaffirms a commitment: to promote a region where wine is more than just a product – it is a culture, a passion, an identity and a craft.

2. Because autumn in Savoie, it’s the haute couture of landscapes

October here is a riot of colour: the vineyards shift from green to a rich golden brown, the forests take on coppery and amber hues, and the mountain peaks begin to turn white very gradually, as if dusted with icing sugar.

And right in the middle of this scene, there’s you. Whether as a couple or with friends, with the wind in your hair and a glass in your hand, savouring the moment. Because yes, autumn in Savoie is the season for taking it slow, for gentleness, for good things. Perfect for a getaway, a timeless escape, far from the crowds… and the grape harvest that’s already over.

And the best bit of it all? It’s just a train ride away! Chambéry TGV station drops you off at the foot of the mountains, a stone’s throw from the town centre and the vineyards. In just a few hours from Lyon, Paris or Geneva, you’ll find yourself in the middle of a picture-postcard scene. No stress, no traffic jams. Just you, the scenery, and a glass in your hand.

3. Because there are some amazing experiences to be had (and we’re not just talking about wine)

Vignobles en Scène is much more than just a few glasses on a bar. It’s an invitation to experience wine in a different way: on the move, high up, surrounded by nature, or right in the heart of the city. Our partners have no shortage of ideas to help you discover wine tourism, vineyards and wine through a range of outdoor and indoor activities.

Green Travel Info

Chambéry Montagnes is easily accessible by train, thanks to the Chambéry Challes-les-Eaux TGV station. The main routes run via Lyon and Paris. The destination can also be reached by bus and by car (the A43 and A41 motorways).

4. Because you’ll be meeting winegrowers passionate (and fascinating)

Behind every bottle, there are hands, faces and stories. Throughout the weekend, Savoie’s winegrowers open their doors (and their cellars) to introduce you to their expertise, their grape varieties (22 of them, no less!) and their daily lives, which are often spent high up – both literally and figuratively.

This wine region, small in size but vast in diversity, is like a living museum. Here, you’ll learn, taste and forge connections.

And for those who want to do it all and see it all: take a tour of the vineyards with a private chauffeur. The 1786 agency offers a comfortable tour: a 4-hour trip through the vineyards, complete with tastings and fascinating stories. Perfect for exploring without having to drive (and raising a glass in peace).

7. Because it’s also for those who are curious, not just for connoisseurs

You don’t need a degree in oenology or a sommelier’s nose to enjoy Vignobles en Scène! This event is designed for everyone, whether you’re a discerning wine lover or simply curious and looking for new experiences.
It’s the perfect opportunity to ease yourself into the world of wine, ask questions (even the ones you’d never dare ask), taste, compare, learn… and, above all, have a good time.

Here, there’s no jargon or judgement, just enthusiasts who love sharing their passion. And we’ll tell you quite simply: there’s no better time to discover wine than when you’re sharing it with others.

Bonus: a whirlwind of emotions!

Chambéry Montagnes, this is a land of contrasts and riches where wine becomes poetry, the mountains become a source of tranquillity, and culture is shared on every street corner and in every wine cellar.

Vignobles en Scène embodies the very essence of what the region has to offer: genuine encounters, inspiring natural beauty, a living heritage and a deep-rooted appreciation of the local terroir.

You’ll leave with memories etched in your mind, a few bottles under your arm (or in the boot) and, above all, a single desire: to return.

Why not savour the landscape?

Take a weekend to slow down. To breathe. To savour Savoie in small sips. Because here, we cultivate much more than just wine: we cultivate the art of living, a warm welcome and simple pleasures.

What if it were more than just an event?
What if it were to become your next favourite memory?
