The Tour de France 2026 Chambéry Montagnes is back!

The men’s Tour de France will set off from Chambéry for a spectacular stage through the Bauges and Chartreuse mountain ranges, before finishing in Voiron.
An exceptional route, great public enthusiasm expected… and confirmation that Chambéry Montagnes is, more than ever, a true cycling region.

A year after the women... The men are taking over

In 2025, thousands of you were on the edge of your seats as the Tour de France Femmes passed through, cheering on the champions in the streets of Chambéry, along the Alpine hairpin bends, against a spectacular backdrop. That memorable moment left a lasting impression.

In 2026, we’re doing it all again! This time, it’s the men who will set off from Chambéry, ready to tackle the Savoyard terrain. The stage promises to be a demanding one: it will pass through two regional nature parks where the landscapes showcase the full spectrum of Savoy’s beauty – alpine pastures, forests, cliffs and authentic villages. It’s sure to set the hearts of both riders and spectators racing!

A stage to remember!

Entertainment, fan zones, shows, workshops for young and old alike… On Wednesday 22 July, the whole region will be buzzing. Whether you’re a cycling enthusiast or just curious, the atmosphere promises to be unforgettable!

So, get your banners, your horns and your best cheers ready: the Tour de France is back, and Chambéry Montagnes is ready to welcome it in style!

A region designed with cycling in mind

Behind this major event lies a joint project.
The city of Chambéry, the Greater Chambéry urban area, theBauges and Chartreuse Regional Nature Parks, as well as Chambéry Montagnes are joining forces and pooling their enthusiasm to turn this start into a huge public celebration.

Here, we are working together to build the destination’s momentum with conviction and passion… Our aim? To show that Chambéry Montagnes pulsates to the rhythm of cycling all year round!

The route takes in far more than just a path. It links together atmospheres, landscapes and places, each with its own character.
A vibrant town, unspoilt nature, wilder terrain… as the route unfolds, the scenery changes and so do your desires.
Let yourself be carried along, from one place to the next, and make this stage an unforgettable experience.

Chambéry

The race starts in the heart of Chambéry, amongst colourful façades, bustling squares and historic landmarks. The atmosphere builds, spectators gather, and then the peloton sets off.

The city marks the start of the stage, with its must-see sights to discover before following the race towards the first hills.

Heart of the Bauges

Inthe heart of the Bauges massif, the route winds through unspoilt countryside, amongst wild rivers, forests and charming villages. Here,the water, the landscapes and local traditions set the pace forthe stage, with plenty of opportunities to stop and enjoy the surroundings and local produce.

Margériaz Aillons

The route climbs higher around Les Aillons and Margériaz. The terrain becomes more rugged, with mountain passes, alpine pastures and the rock formations typical of the massif. This is a more mountainous area, offering sweeping views and a range of outdoor activities in the surrounding area.

The Chartreuse Foothills

The route leaves Les Bauges after passing through Chambéry and heads towards the foothills of the Chartreuse. The landscape gradually becomes more rugged again, with a mix of wooded slopes and cliffs, creating a more rocky atmosphere.
