Tucked away in the historic Faubourg Montmélian neighbourhood, this eco-friendly ‘third place’ is the perfect setting to switch off for a morning. Here, you can enjoy the experience in complete freedom and with a degree of independence. As soon as you arrive, Sarah and Justine will give you a warm welcome, introduce themselves and introduce you to straw marquetry. You’ll then be guided step by step with the help of a very clear instruction booklet, allowing you to work at your own pace. Don’t worry if you’re a beginner: Sarah and Justine will be right by your side throughout the activity to answer your questions, check your technique and offer advice. As you turn the pages of the booklet, your hands are busy splitting, flattening and gluing this natural and incredibly luminous material. You create your own design by choosing from over sixty shades of coloured straw to make a small, unique and personalised item (such as an elegant brooch or a bookmark). Whilst your creativity is in full flow, a tasty treat awaits at the table. The workshop includes a delicious, entirely homemade vegetarian brunch, lovingly prepared using fresh, local and seasonal produce. It’s the perfect opportunity to share a special moment of conversation with your hosts and the other participants.
