Workshop programme:
• Welcome and introduction: upon arrival, Sarah will show you the materials and the basics of straw marquetry.
• Choosing the design and colours: choose from a range of designs and select your favourite colours from a palette of over 60 shades.
• Demonstration of the techniques: Sarah will show you the essential techniques of straw marquetry: cutting the straw, flattening it, gluing it and positioning the reflections to create a vibrant design.
• Guided creation: once the basics are covered, get started on creating your notebook cover. Sarah guides you through the entire process, sharing the history of straw marquetry with you, from anecdotes to practical know-how.
• Finishing touches and pride: apply the final layer of glue to your creation, followed by a quick wipe with a cloth to give your cover its final shine.
At the end of this workshop, you’ll leave with your notebook and its personalised cover, ready to hold all your notes and ideas!
The bonus? You can enjoy a brunch or afternoon tea (depending on the time and date of the workshop) lovingly homemade! Just the thing to nourish both body and mind!
