Aillons-Margériaz 1400: a life-size ski resort

Just 30 minutes from Chambéry and Annecy, Aillons-Margériaz 1400 welcomes you to the heart of the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park, a UNESCO World Geopark.

The area, at an altitude of between 1,400 and 1,900 metres, offers 36 kilometres of varied slopes, ideal for families, beginners and leisurely skiers. The panoramic views are spectacular, with Mont Blanc and the Belledonne range in the background.

Snow cover is often excellent from Christmas to March, with conditions regularly praised by Météo France. This is a resort on a human scale, where you can enjoy every run in a relaxed, authentic atmosphere.

For shared fun: sledge rides, family tobogganing, dog sledding… Laughter and memories guaranteed. And for the more adventurous, there’s a unique experience: fat biking on snow – an all-terrain bike that lets you explore the countryside in a different way, with plenty of fun thrown in.

In Aillon-le-Jeune, a brand-new ‘Starry Skies’ trail invites young and old alike to take a fresh look at the heavens. The local star? Tome des Bauges, PDO of course. Made at the Val d’Aillon cheese dairy – the smallest in Savoie – it embodies everything we love: quality, tradition and character. Every day, 3,000 litres of raw milk are carefully processed.

And for lovers of heart-warming dishes: the Matouille. A Tome des Bauges cheese rubbed with garlic, drizzled with white wine, melted in the oven in a casserole dish, served with potatoes, cold meats and a salad… A generous, convivial dish that brings people together around the table.
