An accessible and safe resort

Located less than an hour from Chambéry, Annecy and Aix-les-Bains, the Margériaz ski resort (Aillons-Margériaz 1400) offers two routes specially designed for beginners.

Whilst your children are learning to ski with the École de Ski Français (ESF), why not take the opportunity to put on your cross-country skis and explore the mountains in a different way?

The Crêtes Route a gradual immersion

Starting from the ESF meeting point, the ‘Les Crêtes’ route is ideal for a first-time experience. It offers:

A gradual climb with varied sections (short climbs, traverses, gentle descents).
Breathtaking views of the Bauges peaks, which come into view as you climb.
A highest point at Mont Margériaz (1,845 m) with a 360° panorama of Mont Blanc, Belledonne, the Chartreuse and the Vanoise.

If you’re looking for an extra challenge, the La Marge route awaits you with:

A steeper and more technical climb, perfect for honing your switch-footing skills.
An immersive route through unspoilt, wild countryside.

All these routes will also give you time to enjoy the resort and the village over half a day. Why not make the most of it and share a lovely meal with your family and friends?

At the summit, the mountain restaurant La Bergerie welcomes you with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Accessible on foot, on snowshoes, on downhill skis or on cross-country skis, it’s the perfect place to savour a hearty meal surrounded by nature.

In the resort village of Aillon-le-Jeune, several gourmet eateries await you. At Mont Pelat or the restaurant atthe Hôtel du Soleil, sample local specialities and recharge your batteries after a lovely day out in the mountains.

Before you set off again, do remember to pop into the Ferme de la Correrie or the Fromagerie du Val d’Aillon. There you’ll find gastronomic treasures such as the famous Tome des Bauges, artisanal charcuterie and many other Savoyard delicacies. Just what you need to prolong the pleasure once you’re back home!
