All the information on the Tour des Bauges
Find the GPX route and practical information, updated every year:
Every night, a comfortable place to stay awaits you: a stopover gîte, a staffed mountain refuge or a mountain hotel.
Opening times vary depending on the season: we strongly recommend booking in advance, especially in summer. Some establishments allow dogs, but not all: please check directly with each accommodation provider.
Accessible outside the snow season and subject to good weather conditions, the Tour des Bauges is a wonderful introduction to multi-day hiking.
It is essential to respect nature and the ecosystems you pass through: stay on the paths, respect protected areas, and take your rubbish away with you.
And to really savour every part of the journey, there’s nothing quite like a mountain guide. At Chambéry Montagnes, these enthusiasts know the Bauges like the back of their hand: panoramic ridges, hidden mountain pastures, invigorating streams… and those little local stories that make the journey so magical. With them, the Tour des Bauges becomes a human, natural and unforgettable adventure.

Organised by Terre d’Altitude, this tailor-made holiday invites you to explore the Bauges at your own pace, independently, whilst enjoying every comfort along the way.
Each day reveals a new side to the region: lush green valleys, authentic villages, mountain pastures dotted with chalets, and breathtaking panoramic views. You’ll set off equipped with a full hiking kit and choose each morning between a ‘classic’ or ‘challenging’ route, depending on your preferences and the weather.
The package can be tailored to last from two to seven days, with accommodation in guesthouses or mountain hotels on a half-board basis, and luggage transfer so you can walk light.
