Multi-day hike Chambéry Montagnes

Set off to explore the Bauges Massif, step by step, with your rucksack on your back, fully immersed in the experience. Here, hiking is all about the journey: you walk, you breathe, you marvelling… every day brings a new landscape, a welcoming mountain hut, a sunrise over the ridges. Tours lasting from 2 to 6 days invite you to explore this exceptional region, amongst mountain pastures, forests and villages perched high up.

Whether on your own, as a couple or with friends, let yourself be carried along by the rhythm of the mountains and the hospitality of the Bauges. From the Tour des Bauges to shorter loops, every route promises a wealth of emotions, encounters and freedom.

An adventure step by step, at the pace of the Bauges

Here, every step brings you a little closer to what really matters. By choosing a multi-day hike, you’ll explore the Bauges Massif in its purest form: deep forests, sun-drenched mountain pastures, villages perched high up, and that exhilarating sense of freedom. From the Tour des Bauges to the Traversée des Bauges from lake to lake, every route is an invitation to slow down, to contemplate, to breathe.

Tours lasting 2 to 6 days for all walkers

Fancy a first-time experience? Opt for a 2- or 3-day hike around Margériaz, the Leysse plateau or as far as the Coutarse refuge – perfect for a weekend getaway.
Experienced walkers will prefer the longer cross-country routes: 80 km for the Tour des Bauges or nearly 100 km between Lake Bourget and Lake Annecy — an exceptional route linking two Savoyard gems.
Partner mountain huts and gîtes dot your route, offering comfort, a warm welcome and breathtaking scenery. Some even serve home-cooked meals made with local produce, perfect for recharging your batteries after a great day’s walk.

The Bauju spirit: nature, togetherness and authenticity

Hiking here means immersing yourself completely in an unspoilt area, designated a Regional Nature Park and a UNESCO Geopark. It also means meeting the locals, sampling the local cheeses, listening to the wind on the ridges and being surprised at every turn.
A multi-day hike in the Bauges is an adventure on a human scale, a respite from the hustle and bustle, an ‘Elixir of Savoy’ to be savoured step by step.
