A lovely walk for discovering a pass between the highest peaks of the Bauges Mountains. Be careful, the chamois are watching you!
From Jarsy, go up to Précherel and park on the outskirts of the hamlet (car park on the right). Go back up the track which follows the road and passes under the Pont de Leyat Bridge and quickly climbs towards the alpine pasture track. After 45 minutes, ignore the track on the right leading to the "Plans", and instead climb straight up to the pass. From the pass redescend via the track which goes horizontally through the larch tree plantation. At the Chalet des Plans, veer right to reach the junction of the climb. Go back down the same way to the starting point or via the less steep track which is longer, but has a clearer view.
D/ Parking du hameau de Précherel
1/ Remontez la piste qui poursuit la route. Passez le pont de Leyat et continuer sur la piste.
2/ Après 45 mn vous arrivez à une intersection, quittez la piste pour un sentier sur votre gauche, et montez tout droit au col.
3/ Du col redescendez par la piste partant horizontalement dans la plantation de mélèzes.
4/ Aux chalets des Plans, virez à droite pour rejoindre le carrefour de la montée.
5/ Laissez à nouveau la piste pour rejoindre le départ par un sentier, descendant assez raide.

Hosting conditions: A noter : le col de Chérel fait office de bordure de la réserve nationale de chasse et de faune sauvage des Bauges. Les chiens sont interdits au sein de la réserve. Si vous randonnez avec un chien, pensez donc à bien rester sur le sentier (et non la piste) et ne pas aller au-delà du col ! |
