Grand Chambéry Alpes Tourisme
Discover the Bronze Age cave paintings that are exceptional in our region, at the foot of the Mont Peney cliffs. A short but steep hike in a beautiful forest.
D/ Chaffardon parking lot
1/ Follow the sign "départ des randonnées".
2/ At the "Lanceney" point, take the road to the panorama reading table, then follow the "sentier du marcassin".
3/ At the next intersection, follow "peintures rupestres" (rock paintings).
You climb steadily up a wide path through a beech forest, regularly catching glimpses of the Mont Peney cliffs towering above you when the gaps in the trees allow.
4/ Gradually the path narrows and heads east, eventually reaching the foot of the cliffs at the rock paintings.
! Be careful not to go beyond the rock paintings, which are rocky bars!
5/ Return along the same path as before.
