From Saturday 22 March 2025 at 10am to Sunday 23 March 2025 at 6pm, non-stop.

Presentation

The CJDRU is organising the 34th Montagne de Jeux, its role-playing convention in Chambéry.
It's a chance to feed your imagination, develop your creativity, curiosity and spirit of initiative.

Over the course of a weekend, come and play, learn, have fun and discover role-playing games (RPGs) with our Game Masters (GMs) and our local partners, who have a wide range of talents (board games, antique games, miniature games, multi-facetted craftspeople).

As part of the event, you'll also be able to grab a bite to eat at the refreshment stall, take part in our tombola in the hope of winning one of the many prizes on offer from our publishing partners and specialist shops, and attend the prize-giving ceremony for our scriptwriting competition.

On Saturday, come and watch a võ-Viêtnam demonstration with the Võ Son Long association and take part in an initiation to medieval dances with the LIR.

Role-playing games
A role-playing game (or RPG) is a mixture of improv theatre and a board game, an imaginary story constructed by all the players on the basis laid down by a coordinator called the Game Master (or GM), who is often the author of the scenario (and is therefore the only person who knows the beginning and end of the story when the game starts).
During the game, the players (known as rolists) each take on a character and have them evolve and interact in a world that may be real or fictional. The GM is responsible for ensuring that the game runs smoothly, and relies on a game system and rules that enable him to judge whether a given character succeeds in carrying out a given action. The players will react to the events staged by the GM (by talking to the protagonists they meet, facing their opponents, solving investigations and puzzles, etc.) and each successful or unsuccessful dice roll will help to shape the story, since the players will describe their characters' victories or mistakes.
So above all, the RPG is a leisure activity that lets you share a good time, live and build imaginary adventures in a friendly atmosphere.
