Presentation

Nestled amongst the Abymes vineyards in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional de la Chartreuse, between the Lac de Saint-André and Mont Granier, the Moulin de la Tourne, a reconstructed paper mill, continues to produce artisan cotton paper.

Nestled amongst the vineyards in the bucolic heart of the Parc Naturel de la Chartreuse, discover the 500-year History of Paper and Books in this former mill, as it was in the Duché de Savoie from the beginning of the 14th century.
You will see authentic cotton paper being hand-made in a vat, sheet by sheet. During this unforgettable history lesson, you will also learn about the origins of cotton paper, the different stages of its traditional manufacture and the development of the printing press.
